Patient Account Merge

Patient Account Merge

Users sometimes enter a patient in the LIS who already exists. This usually happens when they skip the patient search and create a new patient instead. When you detect a duplicate patient, you can use the patient account merge tool to eliminate it while keeping all records—such as results, requisitions, and billing transactions—associated with the remaining patient account.

📘 Instructions

  1. Click on Master Files from the main menu
  2. Click on Patients
  3. When the form opens, perform search and Select the Patient from the grid
  4. Click on the More Options dropdown and Select Account Merge
  5. When the Account Merge form opens, click on Select Duplicate Patient
  6. Search and select the patient that you would like to eliminate
  7. Click on the Transfer button
  8. All records from the duplicate patient will be transfer to the original patient that will remain active

💡 Note that you can also access this feature by opening Tools/Account Merge
