Toxicology - Batch Search (retrieve prior exports and reprint labels)

Use the Toxicology Batch Search form to find previously exported batches, see which orders were included, and reprint barcode labels for those orders. This is helpful for audit, instrument reconciliation, and replacing damaged/missing labels.

What you can do

  • Search batches
    • Filter by Date Range, Batch ID/Name, Collected By, Client/Site, Test/Panel, Instrument (if tracked).
  • View batch details
    • Batch metadata: Batch ID, created date/time, creator, instrument/notes, order count.
    • Order list with the single-column order-run values used in the export, for example:
      12032500001-01
      12032500002-01
      12032500003-02

  • Reprint barcode labels
    • Print labels for selected or all orders in the batch.
    • Choose label template/quantity as configured by your lab.
  • Export lists
    • Export the batch’s order list to Excel/CSV for reconciliation or archive (as enabled).
Notes

Note: Searching or reprinting labels from Batch Search does not increment run numbers. Run numbers increase only when you export via Toxicology Batch Export.

📘 Instructions: Find a batch and view contents

  1. Open Toxicology → Batch Search.
  2. Select a batch and click Find/Search.

📘 Instructions: Reprint barcode labels

  1. Select a batch and click on print barcode labels button.
  2. To print for a specific order in the batch, Click Search, display the orders included in the batch and print labels.
  3. Choose the printer (if prompted) and confirm the quantity.
  4. Print.

Tip: If you need a new run for an order (e.g., -02), create a new export using Toxicology Batch Export. Reprinting labels here preserves the existing run number.

Troubleshooting

  • Can’t find a batch: Broaden the date range or remove restrictive filters; verify the batch was create.
  • Barcodes won’t scan: Confirm the correct symbology/template is selected and print at high quality; avoid scaling in printer settings.
  • Orders missing from the batch: Confirm you are viewing the correct batch; use Toxicology Batch Export history to verify which orders were included.
  • Need to increment run number: Use Toxicology Batch Export to create a new batch; Batch Search is read-only and won’t change run counts.
