Service Manager

Service Manager

Service Manager - monitor and control LIS background services

Use Service Manager to view and control the Windows services that power LIS background jobs such as transmissions, additional copies, HL7/DFT/ORU interfaces, instrument interfaces, and schedulers.

What you can do

  • View service status: Running, Stopped, Starting/Stopping
  • Start, Stop, or Restart selected services
  • Use this screen when transmissions stall, additional copies queue up, or interfaces stop receiving/sending

📘 Instructions

  1. Open Settings → Service Manager.
  2. Select the service you want to manage.
  3. Click Start, Stop, or Restart.
  4. Wait for the status to update to Running before resuming work.

Best practices

  • Restart only the affected service to minimize disruption.
  • Perform restarts during low-traffic windows when possible.
  • After a restart, verify recovery in Transmission Logs or Interface queues.

Caution

  • Stopping interface/transmission services pauses deliveries and message processing.
  • If a restart does not resolve the issue, please contact the OCL LIS support team.
