Reference Labs — Configuration and benefits

OCL LIS lets you configure multiple reference laboratories and route specific tests to the most appropriate partner based on specialty, pricing, turnaround time, or contractual preferences. After configuring each reference lab, associate it with individual tests or define routing rules to automate selection.

Key benefits:

  • Automatic routing of send-out tests to the correct reference lab
  • Lab-specific specimen/shipping labels and requisitions
  • Destination-based packing lists and manifests
  • Multiple electronic interfaces per lab for orders and results (e.g., HL7, FHIR, CSV via SFTP)
  • Clear tracking and audit trail for all send-outs

📘 Instructions

  1. Complete all required and applicable fields
  2. Add reference lab logo to enhance requisitions
  3. Advanced configurations are usually reserved for electronic interfaces and configured by OCL LIS support team
