Ordering Physician Missing
When the LIS does not automatically associate an ordering physician to each test, the order has multiple ordering physicians. The LIS only assigns a physician automatically when an order has a single ordering physician. This may impact insurance billing—the LIS will not be able to assign the physician to the CPT codes automatically.
đŸ“˜ Instructions
To manually select the physician
- If the charge is a test, you must edit the order and select the physician on the Ordering Physician column
- Update order changes
- However this only applies to the tests.
- From the Create Invoice form select the charges on the second grid, More Options, Update Physician and associate the correct physician to each charge
