Enable Result Entry from the Client Web Portal

Enable Result Entry from the Client Web Portal

Result entry from the Client Web Portal allows authorized portal users to enter results for eligible orders directly through the web portal. This feature is controlled both at the system level and, if needed, at the client level.

Turn On Result Entry in Web Portal Settings

To enable result entry from the Client Web Portal:

  1. Go to Settings.

  2. Select Web Portal Settings.

  3. Open Result Entry Settings.

  4. Enable the Result Entry feature.

  5. Select the user roles that are allowed to enter results.

Only Client Web Portal users who have one of the selected roles will be able to enter results from the web portal.

Choose Which Portal Users Can Enter Results

Access to result entry is role-based. When enabling the feature, choose the web portal user roles that should have permission to enter results.

For example, if you select a specific role such as Result Entry User, then only portal users assigned to that role will be able to enter results. Users without one of the selected roles will not see or be able to use the result entry functionality.

Control Result Entry by Client

In addition to the general portal settings, result entry can also be controlled at the client level.

This allows you to define which tests can be entered from the Client Web Portal for each client. This is useful when certain tests are performed at the client’s premises and should be entered by the client, while other tests are performed by the laboratory and should remain unavailable for portal result entry.

Client-Level Test Control

At the client master file, configure which tests are eligible for web portal result entry based on the testing performed at that client’s location.

Only the selected tests will be available for result entry through the Client Web Portal for that client.

Summary

To allow clients to enter results from the Client Web Portal:

  • Enable result entry under Settings > Web Portal Settings > Result Entry Settings.

  • Select the web portal user roles allowed to enter results.

  • Ensure portal users are assigned to the appropriate roles.

  • Configure client-level test permissions to control which tests can be entered from the portal.

This setup ensures that only authorized web portal users can enter results, and only for the tests that are appropriate for their client location.
