Microbiology Result History

Quickly compare with prior results

Use Results History to view a patient’s prior results for a specific test. It’s especially helpful during result entry to assess deltas, trends, and clinical consistency, and it can also be opened directly from the Results menu.

What you can do

  • See a chronological list of past results for one test and one patient
  • Compare values, reference ranges, and flags
  • Review collection, performed, and resulted timestamps for context

📘 Instructions

Follow the steps below to view results history:

  1. Click Microbiology.
  2. Click Result History.
  3. In the Test field, enter the test code or name, or use the dropdown to search/select.
  4. In the Patient field, select the patient.
  5. Choose the Start and End dates for your search window.
  6. Click Find.

Tip: When you’re in Result Entry, you can often open history for the selected test via the History button without re-entering filters.

Troubleshooting

  • No results found: Broaden the date range or confirm the exact test code/name for the site.
  • Multiple similar tests: Verify you selected the correct analyte/version
  • Incomplete context: Add collection/performed/resulted columns via the column chooser if available.
