Pathology - Result Inquiry (view and distribute)

Use the Pathology Result Inquiry form to quickly find previously reported cases and distribute reports. This read-only view lets you search, open the compiled report, and print, email, or fax it directly.

What you can do

  • Search/filter by patient (name/MRN/DOB), date range, client/site, case type, provider, status.
  • Open and preview the compiled report (latest version, addenda/corrections included).
  • Distribute:
    • Print: single or batch, with optional watermarks (e.g., Copy).
    • Email: send to configured, secure destinations.
    • Fax: transmit via configured fax gateways.
  • View delivery status and audit logs.

Typical workflow

  1. Open Pathology → Result Inquiry and set filters → Find.
  2. Select one or more results and Preview to verify.
  3. Choose Print, Email, or Fax; confirm recipients and send.

Notes and best practices

  • Report content cannot be edited here; use Result Entry for changes, then release.
  • Ensure recipient destinations are verified/authorized before emailing or faxing PHI.
  • Use the latest version when available (Final with Addendum/Corrected).
